The team consists of around 30 full members, operating from a purpose built base in Kirkby Stephen. There is rigorous programme of training covering everything from casualty care and winter skills to on- and off-road driving. Specialist training also takes place for swift water and flood rescue and rope rescue on crags and steep ground. The team trains on regular basis twice a month, one of which is a full scale rescue exercise.
